About this deal

This bug spray is made with natural pyrethrins derived from plants of the chrysanthemum family, making it a safe and organic option for your garden. Bit early for ladybirds here but they are the best creature for aphid removal, and once they arrive you need a few aphids to feed them and keep them around. Any time you’re trying out a new spray, make sure to test your spray out on a small section of a plant or two to make sure it’s not going to burn or kill your plants. This bug spray is effective against a wide range of pests such as aphids, spider mites, whitefly, thrips, scale bugs, wool bugs, mealy bugs and more. If you want to share your opinion about our service, positive or negative, you can contact us directly.

If you do decide to control aphids, these are the ways you can cause least harm to the environment and avoid pesticides. It controls whitefly by physical means NOT chemical means and can be used in BOTH the greenhouse and in the garden.

After all, the temps were still well below freezing, and any insect wouldn’t dare to make an appearance this early in Wyoming. I've wasted no end of bird food over the winter trying to attract them, the only birds that's been attracted are the pigeons, I don't mind one or two but they started bringing their extended family to dine, so I stopped feeding them. Contact insecticides are unlikely to penetrate the waxy coating on woolly aphids nor get to the aphids that cause leaves to curl up – such as plum leaf-curling aphid – since they hide and are protected within the curled-up leaf.

And despite the name, you won't always find greenfly a green colour - as there are a number of species all under the same umbrella. Some natural enemies of aphids can be purchased as biological control for use in greenhouses, including hoverfly larvae, lacewing larvae and several parasitoid wasps. The only thing I might do if plants seem really infested is rub them off with my fingers occasionally.Caution– do not spray young plants (those with less than 6 leaves) and never spray under hot, bright conditions – or some scorch may occur. In spring, aphid populations may rise to begin with as predator populations can be low, but later in the season these predator populations will be rising to get aphids under control. Keep encouraging natural predators such as ladybirds and birds so that your aphid populations stay low. Special Offer – Reuse the RTU Bottle using the concentrated bottle – refill it 6 times with a 500ml concentrate.

Without them, other insects will find a new home elsewhere and there will be nothing to naturally deter an aphid attack. My organic pest control spray is one option (it uses onions and garlic to deter critters), but most of the time, insecticidal soap is recommended for aphid control as well as other smaller insects. It appears to work, but I'm a bit worried about it killing other friendly insects, such as those that prey on greenfly. This is a particular problem on soft fruits, such as strawberry and raspberry, and some vegetables such as tomatoes and plants of the cucumber/marrow family, as well as on some ornamental plants, such as dahlias, lilies, pelargoniums, tulips and sweet peas. I chose peppermint because most bugs hightail it outta there when they get a whiff of the menthol in peppermint, especially ants.Clove bud oil contains eugenol which repels insects and helps to control fungal disease and indeed I found this to be the case when some of my rose leaves covered in a white fungus disappeared after just one spray. Why is boiled rhubarb OK, but there would be screams of anguish if I suggested oxalic acid at a known dilution? Daughter of a farmer and market gardener so have always had a connection with the outdoors, whether it was keeping animals or producing fruit, vegetables and cut flowers. Some, such as woolly aphid, cover themselves with a white, waxy, fluffy secretion that disguises them from predators and prevents them being killed by some chemical insecticides. They usually occur in large clusters on soft plant tissues, such as new shoots and the undersides of leaves.

Some items are classed as heavy or oversize such as bags of compost, gravels, bird seed, large plastics, large boxed items or tools. I use dilute soft soap solution as a localised and well-directed spray on my camellias, it leaves the shepherding ants unaffected. For edible plants, make sure the food plant is listed on the label and follow instructions on maximum number of applications, spray interval and harvest interval. Simply Green Bugs Away Spray 500ml is a 100% natural synergistic blend of Lemongrass, Lavender, Thyme and Eucalyptus.

I've just made a batch of rhubarb spray (3 chopped rhubarb leaves, boiled in a couple pints of water, then simmered for 20 mins). A fast acting contact insecticide that also protects against new attack, Greenfly Killer kills and protects not only your ornamental plants, but also a wide range of edibles for up to 4 weeks against aphids, whitefly, caterpillars and many more. Aphids have a lot of natural predators – including ladybirds, hoverflies, lacewings and numerous species of birds.
