This bug spray is made with natural pyrethrins derived from plants of the chrysanthemum family, making it a safe and organic option for your garden. Bit early for ladybirds here but they are the best creature for aphid removal, and once they arrive you need a few aphids to feed them and keep them around. And despite the name, you won't always find greenfly a green colour - as there are a number of species all under the same umbrella. Some natural enemies of aphids can be purchased as biological control for use in greenhouses, including hoverfly larvae, lacewing larvae and several parasitoid wasps. The only thing I might do if plants seem really infested is rub them off with my fingers occasionally.Caution– do not spray young plants (those with less than 6 leaves) and never spray under hot, bright conditions – or some scorch may occur. In spring, aphid populations may rise to begin with as predator populations can be low, but later in the season these predator populations will be rising to get aphids under control. Keep encouraging natural predators such as ladybirds and birds so that your aphid populations stay low. Without them, other insects will find a new home elsewhere and there will be nothing to naturally deter an aphid attack. My organic pest control spray is one option (it uses onions and garlic to deter critters), but most of the time, insecticidal soap is recommended for aphid control as well as other smaller insects.
