About this deal

When we looked at the platform and its unique features, we made the choice of custom-building the game,” producer Andrei Lazarescu said during E3. ran great although the graphics do become slightly noticably worse (due to scaling) its still not bad at all and so far a great game. FIFA tends to lag behind PES in this regard on all systems, but it's honestly pretty terrible looking when docked on Switch.

FIFA Ultimate Team: The most popular mode in EA SPORTS FIFA is available on Nintendo Switch, allowing you to build and manage your own squad from thousands of authentic players. As a first attempt at releasing FIFA on Switch, EA has nailed the look and feel and given us a brilliant console and (more notably) handheld game. The matches are really enjoyable and being able to play with a friend using one Joy-Con each is awesome. The product boasts a full 1080p on TV and 720p on handheld, delivering authentic football atmospheres, no matter where you play.Although its (slightly less silky-smooth) cutscenes and other close-up moments reveal that the character models are a good deal less detailed than their Xbox One and PS4 counterparts, squint a bit during normal gameplay and you’d genuinely struggle to tell the difference.

Modern console versions have become more refined of late, but running on a more traditional build means that some of the shooting and crossing mechanics may not feel the same. It was miles beyond the pc version, but the gameplay was solid and the “championship mode”, although lacking the depth of the pc version, kept me hooked for tens of hours. Live Campaigns: FIFA Ultimate Team reflects the real world, evolving with the season to align and reflect major cultural and football moments. Immersive Environments: Advanced rendering technology puts you in authentic stadiums, featuring 3D crowds and grass, and immersive broadcast presentation.Right stick skill moves, finesse shots, driven lobs, threaded through balls, you name it – every expert-level technique you can pull off in other versions of the game is here too. Gameplay is pretty slick, however I don't care what anyone says, as good as this gets I feel PES does football better and it a sad world we live in when people can get away with having an unfair monopoly on licences. It must be difficult for publishers and developers to turn a negative into a positive, but sometimes the excuses are so odd our eyebrows can’t help ascending skyward. The vast majority of players look like their real-life counterparts and the kits, stadia and even the crowd look good. Feel in control of possession in attack, with creative skills, responsive touches and a dynamic control dribble mechanic.

Reduced PresentationAlso reported by Kotaku, the actual environmental detail of the game has been reduced as compared to other versions. Watered-down game modes give the whole experience a feeling of it being a work-in-progress rather than the complete package offered in the PS4 and Xbox One version. In addition, authentic animations for volleys, shooting and tackling offer a fluid and rewarding gameplay experience.

I don't care about FIFA, I don't even like football, but this game will determine if we get a Star Wars game in the future (which it's EA's only IP I care about), and honestly, I don't see this game selling up to EA's "standards" so I guess EA's support of the Switch will be same as the support they gave the Wii U: none.
