A British doctor, Alaistair Whyte-Jones, who is staying on the same floor, performs CPR on the stricken man, and plays a big part in saving his life, which will require major surgery. Known for its luxurious accommodations and bespoke service, the Hotel Louis XVI has been the most lauded boutique hotel in all of Paris for decades, attracting an international clientele of the rich and famous. Smaller than the grand “palaces,” the five-star hotels of Paris, it was a favorite among those in the know, the jet set, royalty, and the internationally chic.

It was just bland and uninspired, and unfortunately the publishers never choose anyone new for the audio, which is also bland. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

Awaiting them all is the Louis XVI’s new manager, Olivier Bateau, an anxious man whose lack of experience leaves him unprepared. As I have come to realise with many recent Danielle Steel novels of late, Complications is another story by the popular author that falls into the imparting information style framework rather than delving into any plot issues at depth. The “romantic” couple in here did eventually get featured but it was too little and too late in my opinion as I don’t normally pick up contemporary reads to wade through so much other extra stuff that didn’t have anything to do with the main characters.I love the characters of this book, but I do think there is way to many side storylines in this book. What follows is a number of interesting stories, revolving around three different groups, as well as management of the Hotel. A couple finds their once-in-a-lifetime trip interrupted by a tragic medical emergency, leaving the idyllic future they’ve long waited for hanging in the balance.

As usual, Danielle Steele has delivered a romance with a strong female protagonist, my favorite kind of female character. Not her best book yet but still enjoyed reading it lots xx The best book I ever read of hers has to be Message from Nam. The story revolving around Gabrielle and Alaistair is the main storyline, as we see them fall in love, and her support for him during his severe treatments.I don’t usually like books about the elite or wealthy characters, but Danielle does such a good job of making them relatable and human, that I don’t mind her books. He was incomparably discreet, and knew all the delicate secrets of the patrons, many movie stars, and people who had much to lose if his mask of secrecy ever slipped. Story starts with the Grand Reopening (after 4 years of renovations) of the famous hotel Louis XVI in Paris. Our team is made up of book lovers who are dedicated to sourcing and providing the best books for kids. I appreciated the set-up of this novel and I was eager to see how all the staff of the Louis XVI would handle the incoming issues thrown at them from the grand re-opening.

She is also the author of His Bright Light , the story of her son Nick Traina's life and death; A Gift of Hope , a memoir of her work with the homeless; and the children's books Pretty Minnie in Paris and Pretty Minnie in Hollywood . Biography: Danielle Steel has been hailed as one of the world's most popular authors, with nearly a billion copies of her novels sold. A portrait of him in his formal morning coat had been unveiled the day of the opening, and their old, familiar patrons looked fondly at it as they checked in.

She is also the author of His Bright Light, the story of her son Nick Traina’s life and death; A Gift of Hope, a memoir of her work with the homeless; Expect a Miracle, a book of her favorite quotations for inspiration and comfort; Pure Joy, about the dogs she and her family have loved; and the children’s books Pretty Minnie in Paris and Pretty Minnie in Hollywood. Set in three of my favorite cities, London, Paris and New York provide a scenic backdrop to the characters' complicated stories. Although a few points seemed a bit outrageous I still enjoyed it as I usually do with a Danielle Steel book.
